Cassidy Lennox (Cass)
What’s an inaccurate assumption people usually make about you?
Cass: People think my career is the most important thing to me. I’m only successful because I can’t afford not to be.
Ok, clock it! So, what is the most important thing to you then?
Cass: My family and friends. Hands down. Nothing holds a candle to them.
And do you believe in second chances? I ain’t gon’ hold you, you kinda give strict vibes.
Cass: *long silence* Well, if you had asked me this a couple of months ago, my answer would’ve undoubtedly been no. But, in light of recent events, I’m gonna have to say they’re ok…on a case-by-case basis.
Ok, I won’t ask what those “recent events” were, but I will ask you which song best describes your current life situation?
Cass: I’m gonna hate myself for answering this, but my therapist says I need to stop being so guarded. I’ve had Hurts the Most by Monica on repeat for the past two weeks. And no, I’m not ok.
Hey, I feel you. I had Circles by Crime Mob on repeat not too long ago. What’s your biggest regret?
Cass: Eh, that’s a lofty one. Bria said these were gonna be fun. *sighs* I guess I’ve made some regretful decisions in the romance department. There are things I would for sure change.
You’re right, it was lofty. Let’s switch it up. Who do you call first when something good happens?
Cass: My baby sister. She’s annoying as hell, but I guess that’s her job. Bambi is a close second.
Bambi?
Cass: Oh, that’s what I call Bailey. She’s my Bambi. So delicate, yet imperceptively strong. Like, did you know she practically planned her father’s funeral alone? She was only sixteen, but still held it down when her mother couldn’t find the strength.
Did you know?
In addition to being both the first Black woman and the first openly queer person to make partner at her law firm, Cassidy was also the captain of her college track team. She basically bleeds Black excellence.
