Cassidy, how you plan on getting your girl back? Hm? Since you got your degree and you know every fuckin’ thing.
This is a sample of the soundtrack for Issue #3. It’s for when you gotta put your pride aside and do a little begging for your lady to come back.
Theme: Baby, I Want My Family Back
Here’s a little sample of what you can expect:
Mine Again by Mariah Carey: Cassidy doesn’t wanna dwell on her past mistakes—that’s dead. She’d rather reminisce about how good she and Jazz were together.
Please Say It Isn’t So by Lee Williams & The Cymbals: Cassidy couldn’t believe her ears when Jazz told the crew how sprung she is for Destiny. She even asked her to repeat herself, and Jazz said the shit louder, bitch. Omg…
Throwback by Usher: Just like the song says, you never miss a good thing til it leaves you. Cassidy is unfortunately finding that out the hard way.
Hurts The Most by Monica: Cassidy has been wearing this song out, honey! To say that she regrets missing out on what could’ve been is an understatement. “Don’t you love her like you used to love me” is the part that hits her the hardest.
Un-Break My Heart by Toni Braxton: For once, Cassidy is questioning her own confidence. She’s used to being in complete control, but this heartbreak ballad pretty much sums up how pitiful and powerless she’s been feeling these days.
Infrunami by Steve Lacy: Sometimes you don’t realize that the right person for you has been sitting right in your face the whole time. Or you did realize, but thought you had a little more time to drag your feet. Whoopsie, made a oopsie…
Need U Bad by Jazmine Sullivan: “No lie, I’d give up all I got just so I could get back in my spot.” I meannn, Cassidy was on Jazz’s body before the scent of Nicole’s perfume had even fully dissipated from her sheets.
End of the Road by Boyz II Men: Y’all remember when Brian and ‘em sang this song during the bed sing-off on Making the Band? Yeah, that’s the vibe Cassidy was bringing to the function at the end of this issue.
Distant Lover by Marvin Gaye: This song is about some good, old-fashioned, down-bad YEARNING. Cassidy has been yearning for Jazz day, night, and in her damn sleep. Babygirl has got it super duper bad.
Don’t Leave Me by Blackstreet: This is that “Please, baby, PLEASE!” music. And as prideful as Cassidy is, I don’t think she’s very far off from this energy right now.
*HONORABLE MENTION* One Wish by Ray J: Does Ray J sound good on this track? Girl, hell no. But, did he make us feel every off-key word he bleated out? YUP. And, he was singing and dancing in the rain about his bae? Cassidy, you know what to do.
**Sidenote** I know Cass doesn't wanna end up childless and maidenless like her auntie Sheila, but she may have a little too much dip on her chip.
